Fitness Moments

You don’t have to go the gym, the track or any type of fitness center to get a few “fitness moments” which will benefit your overall wellbeing. It isn’t always convenient. Sometimes you are rushed and can’t carve out the time for a full workout. And, even if you are on a regular schedule of workouts you can still enhance your fitness by adding a few simple movements to your day.

I use these steps on a regular basis and am more fit for taking the time to do so. Try a few of them and see the results you get. You may well be surprised:

1) Do toe raises when you brush your teeth. You can easily get in 50 repetitions which will improve the muscularity of your calves and hael circulation in your lower body.

2) Try to pull your navel to your spine. You can do this multiple times throughout the day. Breathe normally while holding the contracted position for a count of 20. This will help strengthen your core muscles which will benefit the other abdominal work you do.

3) Do one set of sit ups when you first wakeup, before you get out of bed. Stretch your body like a dog coming out of a nap before you do the first rep. Doing them on the soft mattress will help protect your back. Do as many as you can which will help you wake up and start your day on a positive note.

4) Remember to breathe. Take deep breaths multiple times throughout the day. Concentrate. Focus your awareness on each breath. Proper breathing is an essential step to maximizing the benefits of your workouts. Improving your breathing techniques will have a positive impact on every aspect. Of your life.

As always, do not engage in any exercise program without proper medical clearance. I will share additional steps I have found helpful in future posts.
